my dvd/cd combo drive can read a dvd but no cd. why is that?
before my dvd/cd combo drive can read both dvd and cd. But now it can only read a DVD format it does not read anymore a cd format both audio and video. why is that?
If you have tried reading multiple CD's and none work, then your drive is going bad. There is no software setting to turn off the ability to read CD's. The only other thing you may want to try is using your drive in a different computer, if it doesn't work there, you know it is really dieing.
