How can I choose which pictures to upload from my memory card on windows vista?
I keep all of my pictures on my memory card because it's a 2 gig and everytime I upload pictures on my laptop with windows vista (via memory card slot) I can never choose which ones I want to upload, how can I so I can stop having multiples?
Keeping your pictures on the memory card is not advisable. Memory cards can get lost or become corrupt more easily than your laptop or external hard drive.
That being said, you can do a couple of things:
1. When you insert your memory card, a dialog should pop up asking what you want to do with the new media. Select open folder to view files. Right click in an empty space and choose "View>Thumbnails". Make sure you can view the folder structure on the left. Choose the pictures you want to upload to your computer by holding "Ctrl" while clicking on the pics one by one. Drag and drop them into the desired location. You are done!
2. Every time you have new pictures, just delete the old set from your computer and upload the entire memory card.
I still strongly suggest that you store your pictures on your laptop or external hard drive or online (Microsoft SkyDrive (http://skydrive.live.com/) offers 25GB of photo storing/sharing space free!).
