9600GT on PSU with +12V output of 21A?
Hi...I'm thinking of upgrading my 7900GS to a 9600GT. The problem is I have a relatively weak PSU, it's an ATX 550W with a (single rail) +12V output of 21A.
NVIDIA 'recommends' somethinig like 26A from your 12V rail.
Would it be alright to use the 9600GT on my machine, despite this?
And if I were to try, and it failed, would there be a possibility of the power failure wrecking other parts of my computer?

Intel C2D E6300 1.86GHz
2 x 1GB RAM (2GB total)
250GB HD at 5400 RPM

u must upgrade ur psu. beside higher amp 9600gt also needs a 6pin pci-e
power source. a cable (4pin to 6pin converter) will be supplied by the card manufacturer. but its better to use a good psu with 6pin pci-e cable.
