my internet browser has been hit hard by a virus, I AM UNABLE TO DOWNLOAD ANYTHING AT ALL. i did run a scan?
with what i have, and nothing showed up. i dont have the disk for vista, but i do have the 25 digit prod key #. i can access my email via windows live 2011 mail, but CANT GET ANY OTHER INTERNET BROWSER TO CONNECT, THE WINDOW DOES OPEN, BUT IT QUICKLY READS ""NOT RESPONDING"". i am also unable to go back and find a restore point.......when i boot up my system 25 to 30 windows pop up, and it takes 5 min. to close them all. i am using internet explorer, and that is the only web browser i have , and i am unable to download any others at this time. .....HELP......THANKS IN ADVANCE.
You need to run a good virus protection program and maybe anti-malware as well.
If you have another computer or a friend with one, download Malwarebytes onto that computer. Copy the file onto a memory stick.

On your computer start it in Safe Mode by tapping F8 as it boots.
Put in the memory stick and install Malwarebytes.
Update and run a scan.
Remove anything it finds.
Restart.
