Internet sharing via bluetooth?
Okay so I have Desktop Windows Vista Home Basic without bluetooth. And I have a MacBook Pro with bluetooth. I want to share internet from my desktop to my laptop using bluetooth. (I don't have wireless). Is this practical or does it only times work? And when buying a bluetooth adapter, what should I look for in it so that it's guaranteed to work?
Bluetooth has limited bandwidth, the speed with which you can surf on your MacBook Pro will be disappointing.
It is better to buy a wireless router. Connect your desktop PC to the router with a networkcable and connect you MacBook pro wireless. Buy a wireless card or wireless usb adapter if the network cable is not possible
If you are strapped for cash and if you don't mind tinkering with network settings and settling for a less secure network a wireless card for your PC would be possible too.
