Which processor is faster AMD Turion 64 or AMD Athlon 64 x2?
I have 2 dell 1501 Inspiron laptops here. One has the AMD Athlon 64 x2 and the other has the AMD Turion 64. Which is going to be the faster processor? I am unable to check one laptop which has the Turion 64 so i cant really test it. The motherboard is broken. Which is known to be faster?
If they are clocked at same speed, I would expect the Turion 64 X2 to be a bit faster because of its larger L2 cache. You might not notice the difference in actual applications.
But in case the Turion 64 is not an X2 but a single core with higher clock speed, it will beat the Athlon 64 X2 in SINGLE threaded applications but not in multi-threaded applications.
