I think I need more RAM?
I have 1 GB DDR2, running XP SP3. Everest says my RAM usage is currently 70%. Swap space utilization is 27% and the paging file utilization is 10%. Do i need to upgrade to 2 GB? Motherboard suports max of 2 gig.
All the programs running are absolute musts. There's nothing unnecessary (i know about the start up all)
generally 1GB is plenty, you can hit ctrl-alt-del to open task manager and look at the processes and it will tell you which application is eating up the most memory.
Certain programs leak memory, such as older versions of firefox and webroot spysweeper, just a couple that come to mind... so make sure you have the latest versions if you are running those.
You should also make sure you are spyware and virus free.
You might as well add more ram too though, its extremely cheap right now, the second GB shouldn't cost you more than $30.
