I didn't know much about computers a little while ago too. Now i can say that I know pretty much about it.
Yes! There are many ways to make your computer run faster.
Ok! Let's get started!
First. Anything uses space in this world, whether is a computer computer program or a person, or an object or anything.
If you fill up a cup with water and and drop a cube of ice onto it, it will over flow because the ice is using space.
So, everything you have in your computer uses spaces. Pictures, videos, music and programs use space.
Also Spyware makes the computer to run slow.
Get rid of everything or most of the thing you don't need in your computer ( pictures, videos, music and programs).
Then get a good Spyware program.
Here is a good one.
SUPERAntiSpyware it's free! Also get a good anti virus program. I recommend Avast Antivirus It's free too.
Install them all and run it.
You will see how much better your computer gets.
Then go to Start Menu, Control Panel, Performance and Maintenance.
Choose " Free up space on your hard disk.
Also empty your trash can.
These are procedures that will make your computer run better and faster.
