CTRL + C screen blackout?
Since of late when I copy files using CTRL + C on my Windows XP PC the screen goes black and returns to the desktop in about 2 seconds. What's that all about?
Machine specs: Pentium 4 2.8Ghz, 1GB Kingston Ram (2 X DDR400 512MB), Nvidia FX5200 Ultra 256MB Vid Card, 80GB SATA HD, Mcafee Virus Guard. VIA PT8NEO V motherboard.
I also occasionally get a "CMOS setting wrong" during bootup for which I enter the CMOS settings and just disable the LAN controller, save and exit.

Could you be accidentally pressing the win key instead or could it be a short in you keyboard. Does control V work? Perhaps a conflicting copy program? I bet you have a conflicting hot key installed in some program. Perhaps something running in the systray. After you run your virus scan, and check for conflicting programs, start exiting stuff and testing. You might check to see that your LAN connection is disabled in properties. Under XP it will still show in the systray, anyway. It might be useful to know your operating system.
