Will more than 4gb ram work with games on Win Xp Pro SP3?
I have a ASUS M3N-H/HDMI motherboard that supports up to 8gb of ram. I use Win Xp Pro SP3 and heard it can only have up to 4gb ram. Just wondering if I put in anything more than 4gb will it make a difference when running a game?
It will at max recognize 3.5 gb of ram.
I have a 64 bit p4 processor with 4gb of ram and it only recognized 3.25 but there are steps you can take to make it recognize 3.5.
With vista 64 it will recognize all 4.
XP (64 bit) can at most recognize 4gb of ram, not 128gb..
Vista 64 bit can recognize up to 128 gb of ram not exebites.
If the ram is cheap get 4gb, might as well. I do not recommend getting 3gb and a 512mb chip.
They run faster when they match.
