How do I decrease the shutdown time in Win XP…It takes about 3~4 minutes to power off completely.Suggestions?
I've got 2.4GHz, 1Gb DDR RAM, 80Gb HDD- Programs Office 2003 Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Professional etc regular software only but still the boot is fast yet the shutdown is slow. Can you please help as my last resort would be to reformat & reinstall Win XP
reason:
this may be because of many startup items, it takes times to shut down these startup application and then saves your settings to shut down.
solution:
disable all startup items and check the shutdown time.
to do so--- start-run-msconfig-go to startup tab-disable all) apply and restart your computer.
note- if u do this all your startup items will be disabled, but the program will be still working by double clicking on it manually
