Installing Windows XP on a 4GB partition?
Is that a bad idea? This is going to be my first time installing an OS, so I wouldn't know how the installing procedures goes.
I'm also wondering if I can choose a path for Documents and Program Files during installation?
Nope. You can install Xp sp3 on a 4GB partition. Though you may want to compress the partition using a windows vista or 7 installation disc and defragmenting it after compression. You should disable hibernation and maybe page file/virtual RAM if you have 2GB or more of RAM. You can only move the documents folder after installation. As for program files, I think you can move them by changing the registry value, which is not recommanded. You can change a lot of default paths in the registry like Desktop, application settings etc. Just know that you'll be taking a risk.
