I have a video card question about the x1900xt.?
i have one already, and it slaughters call of duty 4 at a 19 inch resolution, and i'm upgrading to an AMD 550 black edition dual/quad core processor from a pentium 4 so the jump in fps should be huge already. my question is, i'm a sentimental person, and this was a birthday present to me from a family friend who builds computers, and i'd hate to change the card out only 3 months later for something that may only be a little bit better. i know my power supply can handle it, so i was thinking of buying another one for 40 dollars on ebay and crossfiring it. will it compare to any of nvidia's 8 or 9 series? i dont plan on ever upgrading to vista as games of the future will still support xp.
will crossfiring this card hold up on a 19 inch monitor for future games if my processor is upgraded, can i still get a playable result with alot of the stuff turned on.
i want to keep this for g ames like modern warfare 2 and the new counter strike that is coming out in 2011
Although the X1900XT was a beast for its time, its time is fading. Still a great card and worthy of chewing many a new game. However if you upgrading my advice would be to invest in a new single card.
