Can I use a mains powered usb hub to give juice to a usb powered hard drive that doesnt get enough from a dvd?
I have a dvd/divx player with usb connection and a western digital (160gb) usb powered hard drive which seems not to get enough juice out of the dvd usb so its not recognized. I thought that if I get a mains powered usb hub it might work, has anyone tried it?
PS. the wd external hard drive doesnt have an option for a mains power
That it is you best choice because a 8 port Hub have it is on electrical source to power diferents devices and the same time, just think any port integrated in your PC use his resources(electrical) and if you conect to your DVD player it will use his resources, this player it is build to reproduce video content from a USB drive and not to power a hardrive who eventualy will use more power than the DVD.
