How can I fix a computer that reports 1048MB = 1GB?
When I download a movie or when I convert an AVI file to DVD, my computer then reports that .99GB = 1048MB. The last time I remember, it was 1024MB = 1GB. What wrong with the computer? How can I fix the error?
This is probably a rounding error or a "space on disk" problem.
Files often take up more space than than they really need due to fragmentation and storage overhead.
Try defragmenting your hard drive. (make sure to back up your data first!)
