XP or Vista?
I am buying a new notebook, I am thinking 1gb memory, 160gb hard drive, Intel 2Deo 1.8, integrate graphics, trying to stay under 1,000.
Xp would be faster but in a year where will I be. My impression is that vista has many bugs that will need 50 updates and one re hall. But if vista is needed to do new things, that is still best. The only thing I see vista having at this point is a cool new looking interface. What is the opion of yahoo?
Stay with XP. I just bought a new laptop system that came with Vista installed. I've got 2gB memory, 160gB HD, Turion 64 1.6 and integrated ATI graphics. I'm looking to go the multi boot root and install XP on another partition. None of my current applications run right on Vista. Vista is the ME of 2007. It sucks. YOU DON'T WANT VISTA!!!!!
I think Vista is Microsoft's way of trying to attract back some of Apples business. We buy PCs instead of Macs for a reason. You will also run into the problem that Microsoft has taken the role of software police. If you try to copy anything you shouldn't the operating system stops you. Every time you execute a program the operating system pops up and asks if you told the program to run. Microsoft has gotten completely out of hand. They even screwed up solitaire. Sol.exe had been with us pretty much unchanged since Windows1.0, and now they've gone ahead and changed it. Why? If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!!
